Do I need to change my code?

Usually just one line -- change the base_url to https://relay.upthos.com and swap your API key. Your existing SDKs and code work unmodified.

Is my data logged or stored?

No. API request/response payloads are proxied in memory and dropped immediately after the upstream connection closes. We only record token counts for billing -- never the content itself.

What happens if an upstream model is down?

The gateway returns the native error from the provider. Internally, we failover across accounts in the pool. We never silently fall back to a different model.

Which protocols are supported?

• OpenAI -- /v1/chat/completions, /v1/responses
• Anthropic -- /v1/messages
• Gemini -- /v1beta/models/{model}:generateContent

You can also call Claude/Gemini models using the OpenAI format -- the gateway translates automatically.

How are images / vision handled?

Base64 images pass through intact. Supported on gpt-5.4, Claude Opus/Sonnet, and Gemini Pro. Standard token cost per image resolution.

Can I use streaming?

Yes. Native SSE (Server-Sent Events) is fully supported. Tool calls, reasoning fields, and partial JSON are forwarded verbatim with zero buffering.

What if my balance runs out?

API requests will return a 402 error. Top up your balance to resume. We recommend keeping a buffer to avoid interruption.

How do I rotate my API key?

Go to API Keys in the sidebar, create a new key, update your applications, then delete the old key.
